According to the sources, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has asked the concerned staff to provide details on the maps approved during the last one year. The development authority will scrutinize the data for maps approved for all commercial and residential properties.
It was revealed that the inquiry was ordered after the RDA received a huge number of complaints regarding discrepancies in the map approval process. Reportedly, similar issues were reported in the transfer of plots and houses.
The RDA authorities will look into the records for commercial and residential maps approved in the last one year to identify the false practices. For this investigation, the civic authority will also seek details from the owners of commercial and residential properties against which the maps were approved.
The news regarding the inquiry has caused panic among the staff responsible for the map approval task since they have allegedly been involved in record tampering.
Moreover, RDA has also decided to launch a housing scheme for its small-scale employees. The development body has already given a formal approval for setting up this housing scheme.
The planning process for this project has been underway for a while. According to RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi, the development authority started the planning process for setting up this large-scale housing scheme three months ago. He revealed that the process is now complete.
While the RDA housing scheme is meant primarily for its small-scale employees, the development authority has also reserved a specific quote for lower class. For this purpose, the RDA has also included the 3-marla plot size in project inventory. To make the project even more affordable for deserving buyers, the RDA will offer plots on a convenient payment plan.
